Roof Inspection Case Study
Thomas Paine Hotel Roof Inspection Case Study
On the 3rd of January 2020 we were asked to give a detailed roof inspection to find where possible leaks are located.
The Thomas Paine Hotel Thetford became a hotel in 1973 & has many detailed junctions in the roof line which is ideal for a Roof Inspection Case Study.
Analysis of The Roofing Tiles
We cordoned off our inspection area with cones, completed our safety checks before take-off and put the people in the vicinity under our control.
With the camera white balance set we proceeded to take a series of images in a back and forth grid to cover all angles of this detailed roof inspection.
Detailed Examination Of The Tiles
Review & Investigate Data Findings
After a while we made our way round to the back of the structure and identified two places which needed attention.
The first show in the image above shows the chimney stack had cracked along the long edge, through investigation and probing we finally find the problems.
Closer Examination
Early Inspection & Review
Roof inspections using a drone or UAV, is a replacement for traditional scaffolding, which is time consuming & expensive to say the least. We can inspect multiple roofs at varying locations in one day compared with one maybe two using traditional methods.
Time Saving
A detailed roof inspection can take a few hours compared to days with minimal expense. This is the way forward in terms of work flow time and cost.
