Roof inspection case study: Thomas Paine Hotel

On 3 January 2020, Drone Imagery was asked to photograph the roof of the Thomas Paine Hotel in Thetford to help investigate possible leaks. The building’s roof junctions provided several areas for close visual review.

Planning the roof photography

The inspection area was controlled and pre-flight checks were completed before take-off. A sequence of photographs recorded the roof from different viewpoints so the client could review the junctions and covering.

Features recorded during the visit

The photographs included a cracked chimney stack and a damaged roof tile requiring attention. These observations helped identify areas for further investigation; aerial photographs alone do not establish every cause of water ingress.
